George Jones Remembered With ‘God’s Country: George Jones and Friends’ Tribute Album

George Jones will forever be an icon in country music. And now, with the release of ‘God’s Country: George Jones And Friends,’ fans will be able to remember the singer in a very special way.

This album was originally released on a limited basis in 2006, and was re-released on July 23, 2013 by Red River Entertainment. It boasts 10 classic Jones tracks sung by some of the greatest voices in the history of American music, including Garth Brooks, Joe Diffie, Vince Gill, Tracy Lawrence, Pam Tillis, Tanya Tucker and (of course) Possum himself.

With more than 150 hits during his storied career, the album is a compilation of some of his most treasured tracks. There is also a behind-the-scenes DVD of the making of the album on shelves.

Now, following Jones’ passing, country fans will be able to purchase this unique piece of history again, which gives viewers a personal connection to one of the all-time country music greats. The ‘He Stopped Loving Her Today’ hitmaker gave his stamp of approval on this project when it was originally recorded, saying, ”I want to thank everyone involved in this project. I particularly want to thank all of the artists who participated in this wonderful tribute to my music.”

The contributing artists also have noted their deep admiration for Jones. “Nobody in the world sings like George Jones and nobody CAN sing like him,” states Gill, while Lawrence adds, “Without George Jones we wouldn’t have anything we have today.”
